Exam Process

Exam Format:
Online exam
Time allowed: 3 hours
Question format: 200 True/False questions
Passing grade: 80%.
Students need to nominate a proctor using the proctor nomination forms below.
Print the proctor nomination form in accordance to your province, fill it out completely then fax it to ILScorp.
In British Columbia and Saskatchewan, the following can proctor an exam:

Once a proctor is approved, ILS IGI students can write the exam at the location of their choosing, so long as the proctor is present.
If you do not have a proctor, you can take the ILS IGI exam at an invigilation centre.

Exam Procedures:
When you’re ready to write your exam, nominate a proctor and book an exam time (please see eligible proctors above). You need to complete the proctor nomination form and fax it to our office for approval. Please allow two business days for proctor approval. You are responsible for any proctoring fees that are charged. Once your nominated proctor has been approved we will contact you to confirm, and we will send required information to the proctor. This is an online exam so you need to ensure there is a computer and internet access available.
The exam is closed book and is done online in accordance with the rules and regulations for general insurance examinations set forth by the Insurance Council of British Columbia.
Steps for writing your exam:
- Study course materials until you feel you’re familiar with all areas and are ready to write the exam.
- Book a time with proctor facility and complete the proctor nomination form.
- Allow two business days for proctor approval.
- Arrive at your exam early, ensure you have photo id and that you do not take any books or electronic devices into the exam room.
- Once exam is complete or the allotted time has passed, submit the exam, and your results will appear immediately.
If you do not receive at least 80% on your ILS IGI Final Exam, please contact our customer service representatives to discuss your options.
